Hand-Wringing

Spinning wheels and hand-wringing
express concern and woe.
They are futile and feckless: a good-for-nothing show.
Praying kneels and word-clinging
express religious hope.
They are faithful and fervent: a formula to cope.
Dancing heels and song-singing
express movement and sound.
They are playful and plucky: a style to paint-the-town.
Sailing keels and luff-bringing
express mariner's clout.
They are "tacky" and tactful: a mode to come-about.
Making deals and bell-ringing
express get-up-and-go.
They are stalwart and sturdy: a useful road-to-hoe.
