Faithful Loving Friend

If a magnificent castle were my abode
With celestial beauty in every mite
Slowly I would stroll in lonesome despair
The huge place would be empty, a friend is not there
For a faithful loving friend is more
Than ten thousand times all riches store

If a sparkling diamond or ruby jewel mine
Were befallen me to have and to own
In a mass of stones I'd perch like a fool
For a true friend is the only living jewel
Yes, a faithful loving friend is more
Than ten thousand times all riches store

If I dwelled at the rainbow's depositing end
Overwhelmed with pots of glittering gold
To count and to stack into sacks to keep
Yet friendless to share and enjoy my wealthy reap
See, a faithful loving friend is more
Than ten thousand times all riches store
