Daddy Please........

a message to the foolish drivers on the roads

 DADDY PLEASE….

Daddy please don't drive so very fast
you nearly hit that big red kangaroo
that jumped out onto the slippery road
scaring me silly and little jimmy too

daddy please be careful driving the car
especially around the bends so tight
you went too far over to the other side
and you cannot see too far in the night

daddy please do not use your phone
why don't you find somewhere to park
or better still, ring when we get home
as we are really frightened of the dark

daddy please turn down your headlights
‘cause you are making the drivers blind
and the highway police are out on patrol
so daddy, you do not want to get fined

daddy please slow down to the speed limit
it is there for safety reasons as you know
even little jimmy can tell you about that
and you could even make a tyre to blow

daddy please why don't you listen to me
one day your diving will run out of luck
and mummy will be very cross with you
wh….oh daddy!, watch out for that truck!
