Casual Walk

Two weetbix two and two slices of bread,
Be positive be energetic ignore what is read,
Follow the news but accept what is right,
Enjoy the sunshine all that's within sight.

A brilliant day no clouds in the sky,
Get up and go give anything a try,
Head to the beach and traverse the wall,
Stand be erect and always walk tall.

Winter it is the breeze is cold,
Roam the coastline be active and bold,
Study the water and the tidal flow,
Fascinating each scene wherever you go.

Clambering across rocks be cautious with feet,
Waves and motion it's time they defeat,
Look at the sea listen to its speech,
Then casually stroll along a secluded beach.

Sit on a seat gigantic in size,
Bigger by far than most realise,
Wander past the castle this time is yours,
All is available onTakapunaShores.
About this poem;-
My wife and I went for a casual walk along the
Coastline, stopped at a gigantic stone seat, rested
awhile and continued, this poem covers the feeling
and relaxation gained when down by the sea.

I have been writing poems for forty years and written about all sorts of things. Somehow I get creating streaks and can write up to 4 or 5 poems at once of varying subjects. I find it is a good way to record events of the day and bring history to life. The mental aspect is a balance against keeping fit, work and life in general. more…
