Ducklings

Swim little ducklings swim if you can,
Come a bit closer that is the plan,
Out of the water up close to me,
Cute and cuddly its you I can see.

Without their mother riding in the lake,
Such a foursome a picture they make,
Mixed their colours fluffy and small,
Thewhite one is the sweetest of all.

They weren't worried about the dog or us,
Back and forth no doubt or fuss,
There and back fossicking amongst the reeds,
Satisfying their appetite fulfilling their needs.

Great the innocence curious and fine,
Happy in the water and bright sunshine,
In their habitat  very close to shore,
You see then once and later some more.
About this poem;-
Down the lake walking and saw these ducklings
without their mother and as a result this poem was

eventually created.

I find it is a good way to record events of the day and bring history to life. The mental aspect is a balance against keeping fit, work and life in general. more…
