Aftermath (Hurricane Katrina, 2005)

Katrina's path in drowning bath,
is wretched animation.
The aftermath of Nature's wrath
is massive devastation.
A deadly clown with cruel frown
she wields hurricane scourges.
Houses break down all over town
windblown by tidal surges.
Power failure prospects obscure
for healthy circumstances.
Drinking water becomes impure
for any fighting chances.
The levee crack keeps nothing back
and floods cover the city.
Looters ransack to business wrack
and plunder shows no pity.
Flotsam debris spreads misery
from the ruthless exporter.
The people flee as expellee
from their native quarter.
