Addiction

"for everyone who feels they "lost or loved" someone"

You were an addiction for quite some time
a figment that just wouldn't leave my mind
a part of the blood and veins that ran deep
even when you were away and i couldn't sleep
i cherished your presence when you were there
although you're gone i still can admit i care
even though you took me through pain i thought i couldn't bare
broke me down to the point that i couldn't care
taking me into a realm of your own
breaking the innocence making me grown
when i would yell you would scream
when i would be sincere you would be mean
carrying what we had and not being able to let it go
carrying what we had and not letting it show
the first step to take is always the hardest
admitting but trying to maintain being modest
you had me addicted a feeling of being lifted
the best one of all i thought maybe just gifted
you gave you took you made me look
you talked i listened you're gone and i was addicted
