Sand and Time

I know in my heart nothing truly stays together
It is the illusion that our love will last truly forever
I am lucky for the time that as mortals we had
I would not trade a thing good or bad
You stole my heart you were my friend
I cherish our time together to the very end
With you I felt loved, needed I had a purpose
In the worst of times you showed me I was not worthless

I am reminded of a old saying. Death and life were talking. Life said death why am I love and yet you are hated?
Death said its quite simple. You are a beautiful lie
I on the other had am a ugly truth.
