Thoughts On Pain

As I sit and think about life and pain
To some it is light,to others so hard it will forever remain
A pain of lost love never to be returned
The bittersweet memories past lessions learned
The anguish of lost family and friends to still see their face
To long to feel their touch, taken by the grave's cold embrace
To see people deep in poverty, no hope, no food in desperate need
Their only crime was to be born and ruled by evil men filled only with hatred and greed
I am cursed with the pain of the soul, to be separated from the one I love
Every night to say a prayer at the altar of the Great universe above
I see the expressions of pain in fellow mankind by a sadden blank stare
I wish to end this by reaching out and letting people know I really do care
To take the torch of love and shine the light
To show someone on a dark path hope by making it bright
I can help someone get up and stand on their feet
Hopefully they will do so for others in kind that they meet.
