Being Immortal

Calvin W. Crenshaw 1959 (Atlanta)

To travel the world, so much to experience to taste, feel and see
I watch the earth evolve I see it grow  I ponder as to what it's outcome will finally be
In my time I have seen emperors  stand mighty and tall
Only to watch their vast kingdoms crumble and then fall
For constant never ending journeys I must forever go
Ever seeking knowledge as I watch the world change and grow
But for immortality  there is a painful price you will pay
As this is the way
For mortals in death their sins and mistakes are finally set free
But for the immortal all sins and regrets will last forever and stay with you for all eternity
