Happy In My Sadness

Let me tell you something,
Something about me,
I am not an unlucky man, nor a poor man,
I have a life as if written by five year old poets,
A dream for many, if you will,
But alas, I am sad.

Do not misunderstand me, this is not depression,
Depression is a disease that tortures your inner child,
Violent crows pecking at your deepest insecurities,
Barrels of rotten apples, devouring your core.
This is not depression,
This is a choice.

I resonate in sadness, it relates to me,
A heart full, peaceful yet painful,
I have an artists cry,
I am a blank page,
The only colours that existed were the ones you gave to me,
I was just a stencil before you,
An unfulfilled masterpiece.

Now you are gone I sit in silence,
I only drink to remember you,
Another choice.

Tonight I will stare,
Stare at the stars that used to be ours,
A silhouette of a man, empty without you,
I sit here in sadness, as this is the only way I still have you,
So leave me here, in this moment,
A bottle full of memories and a sky full of stars reflecting your light upon me,
I sit here,
Happy in my sadness.
