Boredom

By: Curtis Carroll Tuesday, October 13, 2009

You wake up in the morning, get out of bed,
Brush your teeth and massage your head,
A cup of tea, perhaps a cuppa ‘Joe”,
In your car to work and away you go.

A daily ritual that you despise,
Perseverance is a must, otherwise,
A little crazy, you would become,
Six days a week, then yearlong.

What else to do in this mixed-up world?
If not to work or, if not to toil.
Somewhere, somehow, your life sucks,
If you can’t find a way to make a few bucks.

Money is evil, but we all love it,
If you had enough, you can tell the boss to: “shove it!”
It solves your problems, then creates more,
Neighbors wanting some, knocking at your door.

If you want to be happy and live a long life,
Keep your pockets empty, never take a wife.
Safety in numbers, it’s better this way,
One - night stands and golf the next day.

Note: In a bad mood today.
