Power Lines

Luis Enrique Jimenez Jr. 2000 (Los Angeles, California)

There are major fires burning all around me-
all motivated by the forceful winds.
The ominous ashes engulf the sky,
The Sun is not visible.
Is this the end?
The winds howl like a wolf
divided from the pack.
The sky is red,
bleeding away its tears of pain.
Is this the end?
The trees move frantically
from side to side.
and over the hills-
The Flames dance peeking over mountain tops.
The wind, the wind.
Is this the end?
