Unspoken Truths
In crowded halls where shadows blend,
A boy met a girl, his newfound friend.
Her laughter bright, her spirit free,
She danced through life, a sight to see.
Their paths had crossed not long ago,
In fleeting moments, their bond did grow.
He watched her move with grace so rare,
And wished to tell her, if he dared.
His heart would race when she was near,
Yet fear held him, sincere and clear.
He longed to speak, to share his mind,
But doubted if the words he'd find.
They talked and laughed, a budding start,
Yet hidden deep, he kept his heart.
He feared her smile would turn to frown,
That in his truth, they'd both drown.
In every glance, a silent plea,
To share his heart, to set it free.
Yet in his mind, a battle fought,
Between his love and fearful thought.
He pondered long, as shadows grew,
What would he gain? What would he lose?
For if he spoke and she withdrew,
Their fragile bond might break in two.
In twilight's hush, a truth he found,
To keep his peace, remain unbound.
For either way, if she should know,
Their paths might part, the seeds might sow.
So in his heart, he held his fire,
A secret kept, a silent choir.
For better, he thought, to let it be,
Than risk the bond they'd formed so free.
And thus he walked, with quiet grace,
Content to see her shining face.
For love, he learned, could silent stay,
A whispered dream that lights the way.
