Moonlight comfort

Lost parasocial love to engagement
Insincerity thought was flattery
Masking these tired mistakes in the present
need to recharge my social battery

Feel myself no more than a data point
Invisible lines that criss cross the sky
I know it was nothing, that's all I had
Exhausted then by all the reasons why

my only escape from the deep horror
Of putting my shoes on an acceptance
A tacit agreement I can't dissent
Resolve to head out make up the distance

No one thinks they're ready for love, indeed
never taste fruit if you never plant seeds
