Deeper connections

Never said, liked you better in my head
Stumble over metaphors, lose meaning
Light up all my emotions lifts buttons
on a mission a flurry of cleaning

So your plan consists of me just waiting
Eventually when the world is through
With you, having lived, laughed, loved enough
provide to me, as new what's left of you

When this isn't how I ever pictured it
Lost in thought, wine drunk summer afternoons
For christening, new garden laugh so hard
Kids playing keepie uppie with balloons

how far have you traveled, only to find
Forbidden is merely a state of mind

About this poem

It's 140 syllables with the shakespeare couplet at the end. It's about living so much in the past and future we forget about the present. It suggests forbidden like some friendships can change nothing more complex
