I See Now

I See Now
Can I take a breath, I just need some air?
 the stuff I'm taking-in isn't so clear.
I See
My eyes are now opened, many things I now see,
I know now why it bothers me.
I See
I walk forward but not straight,
the complexity of my journey shows not hate.
I see clearly but not through you.
I See
I hear voices from within telling me you can win.
Win this battle against hatred, despise, and deceit,
I See
Battle finding not just equality but equity.
I See
Sometimes the pain is so great, I feel numb,
moving my feet but I can't run.
I See
Run from the hurt that keeps me bound.
no one notices what's keeping me down.
I see now more than ever before,
because the air I breathe is cleaner and clearer than ever before,
I See
the hurt I’ve felt and hand I was dealt was not the narrative of my life, merely Obstacles.
I See
Obstacles that kept me Focused through my Journey.
I See, I See, I See Now.

About this poem

In life we ask why and why me. We try so solving life mysteries, but we fail to see. I was inspired to write this poem as I looked back over my life trying to understand the struggles and strength through persistence that keep me trying harder to be batter and help others. I see that my problems were only learning and growth opportunities.

I too was in that place of my life when I had to realize and recognize that what I was experiencing was lessons being taught that at first didn't make sense and as I got older they became clear "Wisdom"...
