1-22-23 Part 1

One day I hope you'll let me love you &
I'll let you love me, too.
Together we'd be unstoppable,
it's hard to believe but it's true.

I'll envelope you in love like you've never felt,
make you feel like a king & forget about
the unfair cards you've been dealt.

You'll play guitar & I'll be singing,
our souls will melt together,
who knew this could be so freeing?

This is kinda scary,
I wonder...is this safe?
We're both scared of getting hurt,
on the inside we're both planning our escape

All of this feels foreign
So, of course, we're planning to run,
Is love supposed to feel this
warm, welcoming, exciting & fun?

I can't let this pass,
I won't for a minute
Hold me forever, it's our time to shine
& this is how we'll spend it.

About this poem

Upon meeting someone from a dating app after leaving the only relationship I had ever had, I fell pretty hard for him.

I live a pretty intense life. People pleaser extraordinaire. Boy mom x2. Music is my life. I spend most of my time writing poetry or doodling on my bathroom mirror with chalk markers. haha more…
