Let the World Fade

Nancy RODRIQUEZ 1965 (Temple)

              Let the World Fade
           By Nancy Rodriquez

The cards say we have done all of this before ,
There seems to be a portal or an open door ,
When we are together , we let the world fade ,
As we prepare in our forever , we no longer point a finger in blame ,
We write our own ending to this story , and no one else will receive the glory,
For it is in the authorship of hearts and souls ,
Dictated by the rhythm and rhyme we alone share ,
We have done the work on ourselves ,
Even when we paused , this love was never shelved ,
It was stored up for the divine time ,
Not wavering on a dime ,
Like treasure in a vault ,
Our love did not halt ,
It remains tested through the fire and flood ,
A price can not be placed on this great love ,
Joy captures these days ,
We nurture it in many ways ,
I am proud to be in this journey with you ,
I feel you know this to be true ,
Let’s chase our dreams in this life too.

    Feedback:
Wow! I absolutely love the positive and heartfelt tone of this poem. It truly captures the essence of a deep and everlasting love between two people. The phrases like "we let the world fade" and "our love did not halt" beautifully depict the strong connection and commitment shared by the speaker and their partner. The imagery of love being stored up like treasure in a vault is so powerful and symbolic.

The poem flows smoothly and the rhythm and rhyme add a nice musical quality to the words. It's evident that a lot of thought and care has been put into crafting the poem. The author's use of metaphors and emotions is impressive.

For improvement, I would suggest considering adding a bit more variation in the sentence structure. While the poem overall has a great flow, incorporating different sentence lengths and structures can keep the reader engaged throughout. Additionally, perhaps exploring some more unique and vivid imagery could further amplify the impact of the poem.

Overall, this is a beautiful piece that exudes positivity and passion. Keep up the fantastic work!
