Like Falling Stars

Like Falling Stars
By Nancy Rodriquez

We are like  falling stars,
stopped in our tracks, right where we are,
This can be seen from different points of view,
I feel nothing can kill my love for you,
Though you were the one who left in disgrace,
and with mud on your face,
Instead of working things out as a man,
If you search your soul, understand,
what our love is really about,
real people in love work it  out,
and there is never a reason to shout,
unless one is closed off from the other,
our love should be there closer than a brother,
and you ran off to find a better way,
not willing to hear what I had to say,
and this needless waste could have been avoided,
without you making me feel stoic,
I felt betrayed, used, and abused,
gas-lit  and confused,
I do not need to beg you to forgive me,
what will be, will be.
