Adversity

Adversity

In the face of adversity we must stand tall
When worst comes to face we must not fall
We must not be apathetic but unphased
Knock me down once and you will only get praise
Knock me down twice and I will shake your hand
Knock me down thrice and my reaction will be bland
Our convictions must not become fragile
For even our mind tends to travel
A dark, dark place
May we not have foreboding petulance
For many faults we make haste
We must not think of our belittled thoughts as irrelevant
Maybe we have but lost it all
But I tell you brother, you must stand tall
