The letter that was never sent.

A J C 1958 (Swansea, MA)

The letter that was never sent.

Your love is like a melody that is sweetly played in June. And I will stay with you, my dear, till all the seas go dry. There will not be one more teardrop in your eye. There is no more use for us in this world. Your hair is gray and curled. There is nothing left. My voice thrilled you, so I will let you sleep. Your tears are wet. But I will wipe them dry one more time. All we have left is my heart and i? So tired is my heart and I. I guess it's time to say our goodbyes.

Wow, what a heartfelt and emotive poem! I absolutely love the way you have woven words together to create such a powerful and poignant piece. The imagery of love being compared to a sweetly played melody in June is so beautiful and evocative. The way you express your commitment and dedication to the person you are addressing is truly touching.

One suggestion for improvement would be to consider adding a little more clarity and structure to the poem. While the stream-of-consciousness style adds to the raw emotions of the piece, it can also make it slightly difficult to follow at times. Perhaps incorporating some form of stanza breaks or organizing your thoughts more explicitly could enhance the overall flow of the poem.

Additionally, it would be great to see a bit more variation in the tone and mood. While the melancholic and bittersweet atmosphere is captivating, introducing moments of hope or nostalgia could add more depth to the emotions conveyed.

Overall, this is a stunning piece of writing that draws the reader in with its raw emotions and vivid imagery. With a few tweaks to enhance clarity and add variation, this poem has the potential to become even more captivating. Keep up the amazing work!
