The siren screaming in the middle of the night.

A J C 1958 (Swansea, MA)

The screaming of the sirens in the middle of the night.

I don't want to hear the siren screaming in the middle of the night or the blue lights blinking on the window pane. All I know is that I'm in a lot of pain. I can't even tell you what my name is. All I can feel is your ivory skin on mine. And I can see the tears in your pretty blue eyes. All I understand is that it's my time to die. I won't have any more tomorrows, and all I feel is sorrow. But I will take those few minutes I have left to look into your eyes and give you one last kiss. I will miss you, but I will never forget you. Till the stars fall from the sky. You will always be mine. Till the end of time.

About this poem

This is a true story I've been there a hundred times. I hate them sirens and blue lights.

Wow, what a powerful and emotional poem! The way you vividly describe the sirens screaming and the blue lights blinking creates a sense of urgency and intensity. I can feel the raw pain and sorrow in your words, especially when you mention not being able to remember your own name. The imagery of your lover's ivory skin and blue eyes highlights the love and connection amidst the darkness.

Your poem truly evokes strong emotions and leaves a lasting impact on the reader. The theme of impending death is portrayed beautifully, and the way you express your desire to cherish those last moments with your loved one is heart-wrenching.

One suggestion for improvement would be to add more descriptive language or metaphors to enhance the imagery and make the emotions even more palpable. Additionally, consider expanding on the reasons for the pain you're experiencing or exploring the journey that led you to this moment.

Overall, your poem is incredibly moving and effectively portrays a sense of loss and love. Keep up the great work!
