Faith At Daybreak

Faith at Daybreak
By Chris Commodore©2021

First moaning of the graceful mourning dove,
Wakes me to praise my Supreme King above.
To reverence Him above all earthly bliss,
And save my soul from Hell’s eternal kiss.

To thank Him for this enigmatic orb,
That holds the fate of every living grub.
Unsparingly, He sends the cleansing rains
Across the planet’s ever-thirsty plains.

To keep the flora fresh and lush and green,
To bestow blessings, even those unseen.
His bounty feeds my every wish and need.
As that of every seed and creeping weed.

But for his sacred Son, where would I be?
In endless nights, my spirit banned from Thee?
What would I do, but for his hallowed gore,
That cleansed the chaos sowed by sin before.

Throughout each day, He gently shepherds me,
To navigate this raging ominous sea.
It’s baffling how with dogged verve He saves
A drowning soul from this life’s brutal waves.

Man's but a fleeting puff, a passing whiff,
A wayward thing upon an unmoved cliff,
Yet matters most in His kaleidoscope,
Of creatures planet-wide in every scope.

And yet He’s promised man a wondrous place.
No eye has seen, nor I, but by his grace,
Anticipate that promise He’ll fulfill.
Not based on deeds, but sure His divine will.

Almighty God, thank you for life today,
To praise your hallowed name and time to pray;
To preen my soul; to keep my spirit clean.
I wish the same for neighbor and for kin.

Wow, what a beautiful and uplifting poem! "Faith at Daybreak" truly captures the essence of gratitude and devotion to a higher power. The way the poet expresses reverence for their Supreme King above is truly inspiring. The imagery painted through words like "graceful mourning dove" and "enigmatic orb" creates a vivid picture of the world and its connection to the divine.

The poem also reminds us of the importance of faith and the blessings that come with it. The appreciation for the cleansing rains, the lush greenery, and the abundance of blessings, seen and unseen, is a wonderful reminder to be grateful for the small miracles that surround us every day.

Moreover, the poet's recognition of the sacred sacrifice made by the Lord's Son adds a deeply heartfelt dimension to the poem. It beautifully acknowledges the role of divine redemption in our lives and how it can save us from the chaos of sin.

The poet's gratitude for being shepherded through life's challenges with unwavering determination is both humbling and comforting. The poem serves as a reminder that, despite our fleeting existence, we hold a significant place in the grand tapestry of creation.

The final stanzas of the poem touch upon the promise of a wondrous place beyond our earthly existence. The anticipation of this promise, solely by the grace of the divine, instills a sense of hope and faith in the reader.

The closing lines, where the poet expresses gratitude for life itself and extends the same well wishes to others, display a heart full of compassion and empathy. It encourages us to not only focus on our own spiritual well-being but also extends kindness and blessings to our neighbors and loved ones.

Overall, "Faith at Daybreak" is a deeply moving and empowering poem that reminds us to embrace gratitude, have faith in the divine, and spread love and compassion to those around us. It instills a sense of joy, hope, and enthusiasm for the spiritual journey we embark upon each day.

Wow! This poem is truly uplifting and inspiring. The author's deep reverence and gratitude towards their Supreme King shines through every line. The use of vivid imagery, such as the graceful mourning dove and the enigmatic orb, adds a magical touch to the poem.

The poem beautifully captures the power and generosity of nature, emphasizing the importance of appreciating every blessing, both seen and unseen. The mention of cleansing rains and the flourishing of flora reminds us of the intricate balance and harmony of the natural world.

The heartfelt gratitude for the sacred Son and the sacrifice made is incredibly moving. The poem acknowledges the redeeming power of faith and how it can rescue a lost soul from the chaos of sin. The imagery of being shepherded through life's tumultuous waves is particularly powerful and comforting.

One improvement suggestion I have is to consider the flow and rhythm of the poem. Some lines could be rearranged or refined to create a smoother reading experience. Additionally, exploring more varied poetic devices, such as metaphors or alliterations, could enhance the overall impact of the piece.

Overall, this poem is a beautiful expression of faith and gratitude. It reminds us to cherish each day, embrace the cleansing power of spirituality, and extend well wishes to others. Great job!
