Not That One

Never have I understood,
Anyone seeking praise.
For what it is or what they've done.
To declare themselves,
More powerful than the Sun.
Rising upon the horizon.
Everyone to see it,
Each morning to anticipate...
And appreciate the doing for them to come!

Still I can not understand,
Or accept it understood.
If one had been talented enough with gifts.
How could they remain unconscious,
That others too...
Were just as equally blessed.
Yet,
Refuse to be among the ones...
Not seeking to express,
To be better than all the rest.
Then demand to be noticed.
For nothing more than exposing,
Ignorance at its best!

That kind of ego to have,
I am glad in my mind...
Never did I find for me beneficial.
Even with talents and gifts,
Shared I did to do to give.
And still not to expect,
Myself to be considered exceptional.
Or extraordinarily blessed.

Since these days I want more to learn,
From others that attract my curiosity.
As to how they can do what it is they do...
Without seeking attention.
Or wanting it mentioned,
That they too only want to contribute...
Possibilities of what can be done.
If they choose in their minds to use,
A staying away from seeking...
Adulation and praise.
To have it said,
They have what it takes to be successful.
If they only did it to convince others.
Instead of disappointing their expectations!
In a more in a more public way.
That could and would receive,
Adulation and praise.
Like many less talented get everyday!
To do nothing incredible.
But lie to themselves.
Hoping their egos will be raised to flaunt!

And that to do to flaunt?
Benefits no one excited to witness,
The abundance of it.
Freely given for the attention of it to get.
That's it!
