Advice To Give

The only advice to give,
From one to another...
Wishing to live,
A peaceful and happy life.
Is not to ask anyone,
Coming out of a doctor's office.
Witnessed rushing as if panicked.
Hoping to get,
A pain prescription refilled.
Before the pharmacist leaves,
And that person is looking as if...
In need of quick medication.

From someone like this,
To ask advice as to how to keep...
Living a peaceful, happy.
And joy filled life.
It would be better to await,
After and not before...
That medication they take,
Has become noticeably effective.
Leaving no one feeling threatened.
By someone screaming to seen,
Doing this at a door.
To a closed pharmacy.
Done to have missed the pharmacist!

'Why is that person,
Handcuffed?
And ushered away by security guards?'

'You got me.
We were both coming down the elevator.
In the hospital.
I was visiting a relative.
And they were saying,
The primary doctor they had was the best.
We got down to the main floor.
And then I asked what kept them happy.
They looked at their watch.
To then rush off.
And...
The next thing I heard,
Was this gut wrenching scream.'

'So...
That question set them off,
To break the windows at the pharmacy.
Cut their wrists.
To leave blood all over the place.
What on Earth would anyone need,
That desperately.
To make them want to kill themselves?'

'I don't know.
But I do know one thing.'

'And...
What would that be?'

'Whatever is loved,
To have been prescribed by their doctor.
I am willing to bet,
Was something new being tested.
And left them so addicted,
Death to wish to experience it...
Caused them to prove,
They were capable to do.
If they had been denied,
The ultimate high legally possible!'

'I have never before,
Witnessed anyone become that crazed!'

'OH?
Where I live,
Folks like that are everywhere.
And that crap they take now?
Was better than ever in the old days.
Before additives were added,
To legalize whatever these folks take.'

'So...
What are you saying?'

'Nothing organic and grown that way?
Will never,
Leave anyone wanting to kill themselves.
To convince how good,
It makes them feel.
With a doing to advertise and promote it.
Hoping to get publicity.
And a finder's fee!
