Not Knowing What to Think
The clock set off alarm, it was 12 midnight
And my mind wandered, lost in the night
Where on earth would she be now?
The uncertainty raised my eyes brow
Would it be, she had an accident?
I pray, a good Samaritan, heaven-sent
Found her in a pool of blood, her life at stake
Call an ambulance, her body to take
Or was she dead, I dare not think lord
Or imagine her body lay lifeless deformed
Vultures waiting to descend on her carcass
Where on earth would she be now? Myself I ask
Fear mixed with jealousy, a toxic blend
And this thought crossed my mind and rend
Maybe, she slept off in another man's arm
And couldn't come home after the balm
Maybe, she was lured away to a lover's nest
And made to drink alcohol in a deceptive test
Or maybe she was drugged, her body defiled
Being raped all night long, my anger went wild
I turned from one side of the bed to another
I paced the floor, my mind out of order
Running wild across the earth, searching for a clue
Was she kidnapped, held hostage in a dungeon, oh?
Maybe, she's in big trouble, needing rescue
Should I call the police, declare her missing too?
Or do I call her parents, explain my plight?
How she left home, vanished from sight
Would they say, it's a cock-and-bull story, by her petty mother?
Would they accuse me, the main suspect of her murder
That I have sacrificed her for ritual money, they would say
Or what would they say, in this twisted play?
But the clock ticks on, 5am early morning
My mind overwhelmed, my heart in deep mourning
Where on earth would she be now? I pray
For her safety, her return, come what may
Maybe, in hallucination, the doorbell rang
And there she was, smiling, she has returned with a bang
