A slice of bread

Hunger

Empty stomach for so long
A sunrise announced with rain on the tongue

The mind hurt like tightly closed eyes
The heart so alone it starts to sigh

A mouth shut down in a freezing world
The only friend sought long cold and burnt

Body growing frail in a one way mirror
A forbidden bed the ground for to shiver

A hand reaches out its memory kind
Not this time is the passer blind

Finally a slice of bread once forgotten and lovely
And a sweet taste chewable if only, barely

Clinging onto life despite its sadness
Fighting back the endless madness

Through your words, I can picture a frail, homeless person sitting, shivering on the cold ground waiting for that piece of bread. Nice writing.
