Reality

You think I'm happy and I guess that's cool
I make you believe I'm living life to the full
Always making it seem like nothing is in my way
Holding on to all my hopes and dreams
I get lost in my day dreams and zone out all the time
My life is happy in my mind
Yet reality comes knocking and kills me inside
For reality sucks and I'm not happy in real life.
I smile and laugh
Pretend all is fine
Give people what they want to see and hear
And hold my real feelings inside.
I want to run so far and scream out most days
But I just bite my tongue and put a smile on my face
What I do I do just to get through my day
But giving up on this life crosses my mind every day.
