Colorblind

Were I to express myself through colors and shades,
Would you understand me with these charades?
If I told you that I feel blue,
Would you truly understand that exact hue?
If I said my soul was black,
Would that instantly paint me evil?
Maybe if I lied and said it was white,
Would you distort me into an angel?

Instead, let's have you guess,
What colors would be expressed.
If I said my world is just pictures and sounds,
Would your assumption be greys and bleak browns?
If I said the day you left, my heart bled,
Would your guess truly be that of a violent red?
If I told you my love for you will last for eternity,
Would you know all those colors with certainty?
