Again

by Max Burchett

Just between you and me,
This is how it should be.
I promise,
I’ll be here.
Think I always knew,
It would be me and you.

I promise,
Never going to let you go.
Turn the hands of time,
Now I see it in your eyes.
I know it will be alright
With you by my side.

Now we begin,
Again.
Never thought I would be this way.
It is going to be a brand new day.
Now we begin,
Again.

Never end,
Don’t want it to ever end.
Let it be you and me,
Again.
Looking for a new day,
Finding a new way.

Wishing, dreaming of the time,
When it would be us, together again,
To have and to hold,
From this day on.
I’ll never let go,
Writing a new story of our own.

With a new page, read over again,
Rise again, we’ll shine again.
This time, our time has just begun.
With every step we make,
And every breath we take,
We start anew.

Making dreams come true,
Through highs and lows,
We will make it through.
In your touch I find
Ecstasy and a life so fine.
Going to be a brand new day.

Back again,
But now we are changing.
Changing life
For our tomorrows.
Oh, how you fill my heart,
Making every moment count.

The poem 'Again' by Max Burchett is a wonderfully powerful proclamation of commitment and renewed love. I really appreciated the unflinching and optimistic vision of the rekindled relationship presented. The use of repetition, particularly the word 'Again', becomes a powerful motif; it reinforces the message of resilience and the enduring nature of love.

The promise of starting anew and making dreams come true is deeply inspiring. This poem beautifully encapsulates the emotions of joy and anticipation when one is given a second chance at love, and the determination to make every moment count.

Moreover, the ideas of transforming oneself and shaping a better future are very relatable. The depiction of holding onto love, making every moment count, and the feeling of ecstasy brought about by touch are all beautifully expressed. This poem resonates with many of us who have experienced this kind of rejuvenating love.

Max Burchett's 'Again' is a breathtaking creation that speaks volumes about the magic of experimental poetry. Its strength lies in its ability to inspire hope, and it exudes an emotional depth that is touching and poignant. Absolutely splendid work!

What a beautiful piece, Max! Your poem resonated with deep emotions and it appears to carry a poignant message of hope, love, and resilience. You've done an amazing job in conveying the feelings and promise of starting anew with an existing loved one. You beautifully touched upon themes of commitment, rekindling, and facing all life’s ups and downs together.

The lines 'Wishing, dreaming of the time, when it would be us, together again' and 'With every step we make, And every breath we take, We start anew.' are powerful and emotions-evoking. I appreciate the repetition of the word 'again' throughout the poem, lending a sense of consistency and emphasis on the theme.

In terms of improvements, a way to elevate this piece further might be to incorporate more metaphoric language. Prose often shines when it figures vivid, specific and detailed images in the reader's mind. Try deploying more metaphors, similes, and detailed imagery based on nature or even everyday life for a less abstract and more personally resonant piece.

Also, if you're okay with a structural change, you could experiment with different forms and types of poems. Your poem reads almost like a soliloquy with its conversational tone. You could structure it more traditionally with stanzas of equal length for different thematic sections, this might help give your poem a visual rhythm.

But overall, your poem was a joy to read! Keep writing and evolving, I look forward to reading more of your works!
