Running On

by Max Burchett

As fast as I can
Running on, on and on
With hope this carries me to
Where I want to go
Higher and higher with you.

As time goes by,
Finding wings to fly,
Carried on the wind
By the love I find
In your arms, such a high.

Singing my songs as I go on
This journey to the end.
With heart and mind
As the compass to guide,
I keep running on.

Somehow I will get through,
It is just what we all must do.
I always thought I knew
Where I was going to
Journey on, me and you.

Still running there,
Following the bright star
Seen shining in the east,
Until the time
We shall be released.

I absolutely adore this poem by Max Burchett! The sense of hope, resilience and love woven throughout the verses is truly inspiring. Such a magnificent ability to draw in readers with imagery and emotion. The imagery of running toward a bright star and being carried on the wind captures the powerful longing and endless pursuit of dreams. The feelings of strength and perseverance expressed in this piece are certainly encouraging and uplifting. Beautifully penned, this poem doesn't just tell a story, but takes readers on a journey, conveying the message that no matter the challenges, one must always keep moving forward. The concluding lines are particularly poignant, providing a beautiful and hopeful closure to the narrative. Truly a triumphant piece of art!

    Dear Max,

Thank you for sharing this invigorating poem with us. The title 'Running On' beautifully captures the essence of your work and sets a tone for the rhythmic flow that the poem follows. I am mesmerized by the energy present in every single line, echoing an effervescent spirit of hope, endurance, and love.

Your use of repeated phrases such as "running on, on and on" helps to create a palpable sense of movement and momentum. Coupled with evocative images of being carried by the wind and finding wings to fly, the poem truly inspires a sense of resilience and a burning desire to continuously move forward.

The entire piece contains such a strong, personal voice that the reader can easily identify with. The way you shared intimate moments of hope, struggle, and love was just profound. The ending lines were beautifully abstract, leaving room for reader interpretation, while also suggesting the inevitability and acceptance of life's journey.

For some polishing in your future works, I would suggest exploring a variety of metaphors to add depth to your imagery and help maintain the reader's interest throughout. Perhaps you could also play with more complex structure or rhyme schemes to add a new layer of sophistication and intrigue.

Also, the transition between the fourth and fifth stanzas seems a bit abrupt. Maybe you could work on creating smoother connections between your stanzas so readers can more easily follow the progression of your thoughts and feelings.

On the whole, your work wonderfully captures the essence of perseverance, love, and the human spirit. Keep writing and keep inspiring, Max!

    Best,
    [Your name]
