Delicate Moment

Charles Edward York 1966 (Saigon, Vietnam)

Delicate Moment

Your eyes caught me in a second of beauty
As if eternity suspended my life
In your curious gaze
Your presence arrests my attention
Figure of soft sensual shapes
Shifting the pulse of my palpitations
Your luminous face
Elevates my admiration
Our moment of silence
Between us speaks volumes
The mutual attraction born of
A delicate moment.

Your aura creates an effervescent energy
Bubbling up inside my chest
I can hardly recall when I last felt
This exhilarating sensation
Your body right here
In your simple splendor
Radiates with regal colors
You could be my queen if only
I knew your name
You are a beautiful universe
I cherish very deeply
At this delicate moment.

So it goes without saying a solitary word
Your absence is a sign of sadness
Life becomes a fleeting thing
When words unspoken
Leave only memories
Eyes spare no doubt of love
And the air seems lonely
Without you near me
Petals fall from a flower
Quiet shyness begs
To build a bridge to you
And breach this delicate moment.
