Try Not To Be Next

Try your best not to be the one next,
To become upset with regret.
Expecting what you do should get,
An overnight success.
Not to come to you to see it yet.

Stay focus on each step forward you make.
And allow mistakes,
To accept them and correct.
Don't be that one to sit then accuse,
What you have chosen to choose to do...
Had been your choice.
Whether or not,
You refused to listen.
Or distance yourself,
From advice given to ignore another voice.

Let that feeling you may hold onto go.
Move on and try not to prolong,
Becoming the one...
To self inflict your own sorrows.
Hoping to receive an empathy to borrow.
And from who?
Let that feeling you may also hold onto,
Go as well!

If that kite you fly,
Does not meet your high expectations.
Or someone decides,
The flight of your balloon...
Needs to experience a nosedive,
With your feet to plant closer to the ground?
Let it be done.
To show it shown you are not the one next,
Giving up on your wish or dream to see...
A success to achieve.
In an entirely different direction.
Leaving behind naysayers who believed,
All of those eggs they saw you carry...
In one basket.
And thought easy for them to crack.
Done to keep you held back?
Never to them reveal,
Where the eggs came from.
Or the fact,
You are a basketmaker.
With a knowing which hens,
Will come to lay eggs.
Share their kites.
And blow balloons day and night.
If asked which task they should do...
To keep and ensure,
You will not be next to accept defeat!

'I don't understand.
What is it are you saying?
Stop beating around the bush.'

'Look around you.
You have more resources,
Than the naysayers do!
They are the ones hoping to keep you focused,
On what they are doing.
Take that bush they are beating around.
To take as fast you can to make for yourself,
More baskets.
I know you have got to have,
Other wishes and dreams to accomplish!'

'Well...
Yes.
Yes, I do!'

'That's what to you I am saying.'

'Oh.
So...
I should not be focused,
On what you or others do!'

'Your wishes and dreams to want,
Are not mine to regret or let someone else...
Believe they can steal from me MY thunder!'

'Huh?
Is there a storm coming?
Why are you staring at me like that?'

'Try even harder and with your best,
Not to become upset...
If the thunder you hear,
Has been stolen right from under your nose!
Leaving you wet.
From your own tears made.

Although, I must say...
Explanations may take,
More life for you to live it...
To become aware,
From where your blessings come!'
