Her Rage

Her Rage

No time for ancient ruins
Or the dalliance of buffoons
Not with the ache of this day
As I mourn with the jay

The once most beautiful face
Now shrouded in amber lace
In death, it shields the rage
Like makeup upon the stage

I was jotting down notes as I read through the August poems. Forgive me, mine don’t seem to match your ‘about this poem’ comment, but I still thought I would share it with you …

“I would love to know what inspired this poem. Please! Two simple stanzas that seem to indicate a lot. I’m reminded of the scene from the movie “Braveheart” where William Wallace stands over his dead bride (who is wrapped in a white lacy material). You can see and sense the deep grief and burning rage simultaneously.”
