Love Me For My Soul

Love Me For My Soul

Love me for my soul and not my face
For my handsome façade is
A temporary mask
Making smiles less often
And youth is running water
Flowing only inside
There deep within
You will find kindness
An empathetic place
Where my real wealth is
And someone who listens
Waiting to talk with you.

Love me for my heart and hold me
For your embrace is welcome
By my side we will see
The Sun, Moon and stars
Metaphors of my poetry
Written love letters
To share just for you
I’ll cherish you as
The woman you are
Queen of everything I know
All the way to forever
Like Heaven in your arms.
