Aftermath

With a heart full of purity and innocent curiosity, I embarked on a journey to uncover the unknown. Yet, I find myself grappling with the aftermath of our encounters, struggling to capture the electric buzz they left behind. You ignited a unique excitement within me, an energy that surged and found its way onto paper every time my emotions overflowed. Perhaps the moment slipped away, for my attempts to connect yielded only emptiness. I once convinced myself that such potent feelings couldn't possibly be one-sided. That belief solidified when you agreed to meet and discuss, leaving me pondering how we arrived here. I'm still here, pouring my heart onto these pages, but from a greater distance than ever before. It's as though I awoke at the mountain's base, my legs broken, with no memory of the fall. I could walk away, but departing without answers feels inherently wrong. Rejection, I could endure more gracefully than this labyrinth of confusion, yet even that is preferable to being led astray.
