THE DOOR

mad hippie poet 1974 (new jersey)

I need to sit patiently with this wave, knowing that it will go high and low. So many thoughts flow, yet I sit silently, bathing in the sun's glow. I know I need to pray, but I have not reached Buddhahood. I still find myself misunderstood. Trying to discover who I am and what I am supposed to be inside of the peace of my screams, knowing the angels continue to sing for me

I sit here in my darkness, finding out that light doesn't cost a damn thing. As long as you and I can get together, we can not. Withstand any weather, and we will continue to ask ourselves who made who and why is the truth so misunderstood?

The music is getting louder, and my vision is much more straightforward. It told me it would wait for me to escape the fear and guilt until I find my way back home with the light shining bright and the kitchen door wide open just in case I'm hungry and it is more than my stomach I need to feed

I have been cheating death and chasing love. I finally found one, but I still have my foolish pride, so from which one, if not both, do I hide until I say I had enough you won.

My words sometimes make no sense because I have not spoken of them yet. There are many lives I lived that I would rather forget, but my heart will never hold any regret.

I take another sip from my cup, which is made of gold. whatever is inside stings my lips and has me wanting more and questioning what is the mystery behind the door, so I got myself together, made a stiff fist, and gave it a knock behind it life answered saying forgive for now its time to live
