FEELING THE ITCH

mad hippie poet 1974 (new jersey)

I am slipping on the words which I care to write
I want to strip down these thoughts that I so desperately want to put on this page I want to get naked and raw and be that little bit of something that someone has never seen or heard before by the end of the night both paper and pen will be my whore unless they are the ones who make me their bitch like they always do just recently I have become a slave to both of them these words and thoughts keep me up at all hours of the night this has become like my oxygen I am always finding the need to write

I feel like a junkie with a needle in my vein
the only difference is I got my pen in my hand
I have not felt this way in years I carry a pen and paper everywhere that I go because you never know when you will write your next best line
