MY MIND

mad hippie poet 1974 (new jersey)

I needed to lose my goddamn mind to find my soul that occupies this breaking-down body of mine. The food I hunger for is not a Snickers bar inside the gas station. I do not seek that sort of fuel, and I have been a thief and a fool for too long a house is not a home if you do not feel you belong.

What are these thoughts that caress my mind like I caress my lover's breast? Why do they wage war on my brain with their abstract art colors? I am looking for a roll of duct tape because my grandfather used to say it can fix anything. I wonder if it can cure me.

Playing tricks like some damn sideshow magician while the circus runs its rampage on my mind and my watch fails to tell me the time when last night was the first night i slept in years
