JIMMY
mad hippie poet 1974 (new jersey)
Sitting here with nowhere to go sitting here with these memories of you. why in the hell did you have to leave so damn soon? It has been almost 33 years since your soul left your borrowed body yet once in a while I have a moment where I catch myself crying the other day I just had the urge to play some Joan Jet and The J Giles band on my record player
First, it was I Love Rock n Roll then Freeze Frame
listening to those songs that you played for me as a kid
those songs were whispering in my ear I am Jimmy I use to be your big brother down there but here little brother in Heaven I am your Guardian Angel and you need to remember who we are you need to remember our names
I know your life has not been easy without me there but trust me we all have been watching your every move I wish I could tell Mom that she no longer needs to worry about you because at last, you found yourself you found your true love and now with your words that are starting to have power your soul has found its groove
Spinning the records of my yester years like in New York City Club DJ spins the tunes for all the trust fund kids all night long hey big brother you were our DJ spinning what is now my favorite songs
Damn growing up with you was so much fun even though when we were little we use to fight it wasn't until we were teenagers we became best friends when you died my world ended but now I am older and a little bit wiser I know your my angel up above but you sent me my two angels without wings that showed me the meaning of love
Jimmy, you are still my hero
