The Little Girl Inside

Nancy RODRIQUEZ 1965 (Temple)

Sometimes the little girl inside,
needs affirmination,
for a long time she has had to hide,
until her dreams come into fruition,
She has tried to allow her conscious to be her guide,
keeping everything in check,
though she would often slide,
off the path, and forget,
and she has hated to compete at any level,
it has always been as if fighting the devil,
to get her point across at-least,
while her desires have not been complete,
the love inside her heart knows not any boundaries,
she rejects thoughts of not being good enough,
and resolves to change her flaws,
at times it has been rough,
getting back up after many falls,
and pushing ahead with all of her might,
knowing another day is for the fight,
another dream is in sight.

I absolutely love your poem "The Little Girl Inside"! It is such a heartfelt and inspiring piece. The way you describe the struggles and determination of the little girl is truly moving and relatable.

I especially appreciate how you emphasize the importance of self-affirmation and following one's dreams. It is evident that you have a deep understanding of the inner battles and hurdles that one encounters in order to achieve their goals. This poem serves as a reminder that despite setbacks and moments of self-doubt, it is essential to keep pushing forward.

One suggestion I have for improvement is to consider playing with the rhythm and structure of the poem. By varying the line lengths or incorporating some poetic devices such as rhyme or repetition, you can add an extra layer of musicality to enhance the overall impact of the poem.

Additionally, I would encourage you to explore more vivid imagery and descriptive language. This will allow readers to truly visualize and connect with the little girl's journey on a deeper level.

Overall, your poem is exceptional and has tremendous potential. Keep up the amazing work, and I look forward to reading more of your heartfelt and empowering pieces in the future!
