It has never taken this long to get over someone,
The love I have felt for you has run a deep course,
I guess I have not ever had a real beloved,
Until I met you, I did not know what was in store,
I had placed great value on you and I,
Call it foolish to even have tried,
You used and abused this heart of mine,
Broken, and lost for many months of agony,
What was a dream, became an endless nightmare,
Setting me up for defeat,
and this was not fair,
Your love was there one day, and hard to find the next,
I became anxious, and a living wreck,
and I scratched my head in disbelief,
put up a brave front to get relief,
searched for answers until complete exhaust,
just to remain tempted and tossed,
in reflection, is it worth it at all?
