Black Corvette
Paul Marauder 1962 (Belfast)
I drove all the way down
to Miami Dade County
In my banged up old car
that rattles and hums
Tossing empty beer bottles
onto the freeway
while singing we’re The boys
from the county hell
I wear dirty shoes
And a broken hat
I can fit all my worldly
Possessions in my
Black Corvette
And it’s so good to get
to see you
But it’s been a while
Doesn’t time just fly
I turned on the radio
it was Kix county station
playing ‘money for nothing
and chicks for free’
And if I hear that song
one more time I swear
to gawd I’m going to
kill someone
