I believe in you

I’ve read and been inspired by the
ancient stoics like Zena of Citium,
Seneca and Epicitus

The great writers like Dostoevsky,
Tolstoy, Joyce, Dickens and Twain

The great poets too like the Beats,
Whitman, Hardy, Shelley and Keats
 
But most of all I like to read you  in
the morning noon and night

Your short stories, your novellas,
your poetry, your comedies and
tragedies
          
Your history of the world volumes
one to ten
I can’t get enough of you,  can’t read
enough of them

I’ve listened to the great singers like
Sinatra, Solomon Burke, Sam Cooke,
Marvin Gaye and Elvis

I’ve listened to the great bands too
like The Clash, The Kinks, The Beatles,
The Stooges and The Fall

I’ve listened to them all

But most of all I love to listen to you
in the morning noon and night

You’re Who’s Next, London Calling
Blood on the tracks, Revolver and

In tune or out of tune you’re the
greatest of them all
