Hot Date

A lovely dinner out with her during the evening tide
when he notices her shoulder strap riding near the sky
a slim roadway wandering near the glowing edge
not guaranteed to straddle there could fall a bit instead
now perhaps she brushed it off perhaps intentionally
blushing now an earring flashing reflecting recessed lighting
jeweled journey guideposts towards winsome eyes tonight
Oh ginger hair those curls abound around an honest smile
owning yes I did it looks leaning towards his side
a few more inches questions linger language disappears
conversation happening on several different tiers
a yearning to discover worlds deep inside this play
as the well dressed clientele murmur approbation
seemingly inside his head admiring his position.

Oh he's gone the wine the song the edge of a sweet smile
teeth with sparkle cheekbones angled high against the eyes

nature once again presiding a fire crackling here
dining at the Guy Savoy but even so he feels

skills as hunter attentive listening
forest floors at night
watching for surprises
twigs that snap and fright

While her voice perceives a joke and giddiness ensues
dessert this evening a sparkling mess du jour
holding many things inside such a lovely tour
slim summer straps have fallen down she smiles
he knows the rest

Show her mountains high storms lightning and a nest
morning dew upon the hills and newfound happiness

once upon the silver sheets sans straps and confinement
all of her is happening and jeweled songs are best.
