Pan- Africanism

Pan Africanism is awakening,
Our collective past unifying,
Black Lives Matter, agreed,
But you're as valuable as your origin,
So until Africa has a seat at the table,
Our cries are futile.

Africa is black people,
And black people are Africa,
Search deep and wider,
There's no other explanation,
Black, all shades, all African,
That should be the epiphany.

Your ancestors ancestors are here,
In Africa, watching over you,
Location, that's just geography,
Like it or not, your spirit is African,
Find pride in that part of you,
Claim it, own it, I am African.

We need not be ashamed,
We are rich in power, together,
They look at you, they see Africa,
Represent, our motherland is rich,
We play our part right for our universe,
We deserve at seat at the table.

Pan Africanism in our hearts,
Power, bonded by our ancestry,
Together, demanding our seat,
Breaking colonization of the mind,
With melanin as our memory,
That Africa is our motherland.

About this poem

It's a poem that celebrates Pan-Africanism. The intertwined interests of all black people in the world. That Africa is the root of us all and it's interest is our interest. This poem is motivated by the latest speeches by the Kenyan president, fighting for his continent to get a seat at the table.
