I Hit the Rocks

When love doesn't burn like a flame should
Pour whiskey on it till it burns just as good
When looking through alcohol's point of view
A four may look like a nine
And I don't know if I can call you mine

Long days turn into even longer nights
Coming home just to find
I can't figure out how to stay sober
When times get hard, I hit the rocks a little harder
Bars and broke down cars
Money in the bank for the honeymoon I was saving up for you
Now drowns the pain I'm paying for you

Your memory is stronger than 50 proof
But my pockets are getting empty
And work don't wanna work a drunken mess
I'm a danger and I'm getting a little reckless
Now when I call, I can't even bring myself to leave a message
I just wanna be a little selfish
But you taught me to be selfless
