The Heart

Eyes so full of life
But the love is few
And the life is relatively new
Eager and naive
Someone easily to deceive
No kinder heart
Than the heart that doesnt wish to receive
Giving is all it knows
And years beyond its youth is all it has to show
A mighty soul
With a hope for what it doesn't know
Anyone who is willing to give
Their heart it will hold
Listening to every word
But the silence says more of the hurt
A touch so gentle it isnt even known
Not looking for glory
But wishing for the world
And everyone in it
From the bright eyes
To the dull smiles hiding the light
Youthful and young
With an old mind
So many of other people's scars they've left behind
But willing is the heart when it wants to cure the mind
Because troubles can always be left for others to find
