Did I say?

We were relaxed
The first glasses of Rose D’anjou half empty
She asked many questions of me
In perfect french

Mama Deux did a good job translating
She hung on her seat
“What is he saying!”
In perfect french

And so it went
I seemed to answer all the questions
I was eager to share, myself
In clumsy french
And english

And so it was…..
So natural, real, innocent, pure
But I wanted her to know
Whatever she wanted

For I wished……
That after she knew me
She would want more
I already did, of her……

Said she was a widow 2 years
He was a great man, I am sure
Two children, 19 and 30
I met her daughter the day before

We danced to some blues
She was eager yet hesitant
Only two years…..
We managed, i felt the hesitation

Then I twirled her
Like a bride at a wedding
We had fun
She kissed my neck
I blacked out for a second

I think of him, though we never met
I tell him, only if he accepts me
I know he wished to still be there
I know he would want her to be happy

How can I love so deep?
After three days
And 3 lifetimes of errors
We prayed before I left

Emmanuelle…..
it means “God is with us”
Now I am praying,
2 short days later

4,000 miles away
She said “our hearts are the same”
“I doubt I could ever love again”
I said…….

About this poem

During the party before my departure. Emmanuelle introduced her friend, “Mama deux”. She called herself Emmanuelle's other wife. She could speak both english and french….. her confidant and translator…… Right now I am going through major changes ……. I committed to death alone with my God… On top of Renegade Mtn…. I am ready to move to Belgium next week, and am able….. this is chapter two of many I hope… I sent her a friendly message two days ago…. . now I wait, And try to be somewhat normal….. Please let this not be a cruel trick
